Apple is expected to launch its new iPhone 16 series after its unveiling at an event in September. The iPhone 16 series is widely believed to be an incremental update, but it appears to be getting another new button similar to its predecessor. Last year, Apple introduced the iPhone 15 Pro with an action button. CAD renders obtained exclusively by 91mobiles show an additional button on the right side of the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro along with the familiar design language.
iPhone 16 Pro CAD Renders Unveil Design Prior to Launch
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max used a titanium frame for the first time in an iPhone. Other design improvements included thinner bezels and rounded corners. The new iPhone 16 Pro will continue to use the same design language, but there seem to be a few changes.
CAD renderings shared with 91mobiles by industry sources show the rumored “Capture Button” below the usual location of the power button. The capacitive touch button is expected to enable functions such as adjusting focus and zoom levels, in addition to being a trigger for taking photos and videos. The action button could also be a bit bigger.
Furthermore, 91mobiles received the dimensions of the upcoming device. The iPhone 16 Pro will measure 149.6 x 71.4 x 8.4 mm with a 6.1-inch display. Compared to the dimensions of the iPhone 15 Pro (146.6 x 70.6 x 8.25 mm), the iPhone 16 Pro is slightly taller, wider and thicker. The longitude and latitude figures confirm the data shared by MacRumors. However, a 6.3-inch display panel is more plausible based on previous leaks, thinner bezels and new dimensions.
The iPhone 16 Pro retains the same camera bump design
The camera bump will continue with the design language we first saw in 2019 in the iPhone 11 Pro range. Recent leaks with a different fidget spinner-like camera bump may be inaccurate based on the CAD we obtained. The upcoming phone includes three camera sensors, a LiDAR module, a microphone and a flash.
